When I agreed to review the PS4 version I was skeptical the console was going to hold the proverbial candle to my PC experience, but after 20+ hours and the purchase of a new PS4 version of Logitech’s infamous racing wheel I stand corrected and a wee bit surprised.
I’m partial to the PC when it comes to racing games, because they can consistently provide the 60fps required for realistic driving, plus I have a Logitech G27 racing wheel that seals the deal on realism. I have been playing DiRT Rally on the PC for the past year eight months of that in Early Access and then the final version that released in December. I’ve been a fan of Codemasters’ DiRT franchise since it debuted in 2007, but nothing could have prepared me for the level of sim-tastic realism I was about to experience on a PlayStation 4 of all places. One club will have standard events with assists available and the other will be full-on hardcore for the toughest challenge out there.I’m back! I can’t believe it’s been three years since my last racing game review, but then again, there haven’t been a lot of proper racing games released during that time, so I was understandably excited to check out DiRT Rally. We’ve already created 2 clubs of our own for you all to join, come race against us and beat our times! Recommended Clubs highlights a few others have created that may be of interest to you.Įvery club has its own URL, and if you have that URL you can join that club right away.My Clubs shows the clubs you’re currently a member of.Heading back to the main menu now, there are multiple ways to check up on the clubs you’re in or want to join. I’m a no-assist controller player myself and it’s fun to see how far up the Leaderboard I can climb when racing against steering wheel users. Within the Leaderboards you can also see what platform your players are on, what assists they’re using as well as their peripheral choice. Pick the start time and Advanced Settings and you’re away!Ĭhampionships will show up on your club’s page, where you can check the current progress and overall Leaderboards. Once you’ve got everything set up, hit and you’re almost ready to go. You can even run different car Classes in different Events. Once your Events are generated you can customise them how you see fit. Pick the number of Events (locations) and Stages for each and the website will do the rest.
When you want to create a Championship you’ll be given the option to generate one. Also, a Club can only have one active Championship running at a time. Only Rally Championships can be created with clubs, Rallycross Events are not an option. These are managed through the website but appear in-game for you and your friends to drive. The main reason to join clubs is to take part in Championships. Here you can see that DiRT has promoted me to Administrator, happy days! Owners and Administrators can examine any Player in the Members panel and either promote or kick them. Players are the base level with no extra tools, but can still take part in Championship in-game.Administrators can also create Championships and have the ability to manage Players.
